What is this?

I don't know what Ellie is thinking in these pictures but it sure made me laugh. I was trying to take a picture of her new teeth. Yes that's right, Ellie has two bottom teeth that came in a couple of weeks ago! Too soon Ellie, too soon!

This girl provides constant entertainment. If you ever need a laugh, come on over.

A bit delayed

We went and visited Mom and Dad Barlow a few weeks ago and we took these pictures that I forgot to post! It was really fun to get pictures with Grandma Honey too. Ellie and I spent several days there before Ryan joined us. It was nice to spend more than a quick 1-2 day trip. We had time to actually visit and relax.

Not so fast little miss!

Ellie thinks she is a big girl now. She wants to stand, not sit. She has been very interested in what we are eating and drinking, so we let her try. She drinks water out of sippy cups, and likes it. We gave her rice cereal and we were so excited to see her reaction. The result? Nothing. She ate it like she had been doing it for years. No excitement. No funny faces. Just resignation that we were putting yet another thing in her mouth.
This is not the only thing she thinks big girls do. She also thinks they don't take naps! Sorry Ellie, you aren't old enough yet to skip those. I must keep my sanity! She has to be forced now. Why are kids so silly? We as adults would LOVE to nap. But kids? They cry like you just told them you don't love them anymore. You would think I was torturing her the way she acts. But the honest truth...her face when I make her go to bed is so darn cute!

Friends

Our friends Mark and JanaLee came to visit us. We got to spend a couple of great days with them! We hiked up to the lovely wind caves. The trail is such a nice one. Mostly shaded, not too steep, and you get to see cool caves at the end. If you recall last time Ryan and I went, we almost stepped on a rattler. This time, no rattlers. We did however see several other kinds of snakes. There is something so refreshing about a hike. You are just away from everything crazy and distracting. You feel like you can breathe. You forget what you were worried about earlier, or the long list of things to do.
I think I am going to take the dogs up there...and leave them...so I can't hear them barking...dumb dogs. Does that make me a horrible person?
