It looks like Ryan and I are going to be taking care of kids sooner than we thought. We got called to the Nursery! I admit, I am nervous. I don't know what to do with little kids. I guess this will be a great learning opportunity to help prepare me for my own kids. Anyone have great advice for us?

Dad and I were your Nursery leaders and we loved every minute of it. have it planned out in segments, finger plays, singing time, coloring, story time, snack time...we used to play hide and seek in the room with the kids hiding under the table, in the corner, etc.
I am really jealous!! I was a permanent volunteer in the nursery while Gwen was in there, and that meant that I was able to have Harry in there early as well. It is really fun.
Just like your mom said make sure that you have a good routine, and break it up into different activities so that you keep the attention of the kids.
In our ward they LOVED singing time, and the lesson was never more than 5 minutes long, but the kids were great, even if that meant that sometimes we were doing bubbles for the last 15-20 minutes some days, you just do whatever works for you and the kids in your ward.
James told me that he would pretty much go apostate if they called him into the nursery so I guess that means that I would be on my own, but I would totally take that calling.
OH and best part, SNACKS!!! What could be better than that? Not much if you ask me.
Feed 'em candy! Lots and lots of candy!

That's so funny you were called into Nursery. I never understand why the call the pregant ladies into it. Well at least your hubby is in it with you. I got called when I was 3 months into my pregnancy with Bryten and Brian was in the Elders Quorum Presidency. It was hard because sometimes I was the only one there. You will do great though. Have fun with it!
